ITALY Italian Radio Relay Service, 7290 via Tiganesti (Romania) at 1944-1957 with a gravelly-voiced ancr hosting pgm of pop oldies. Went off suddenly before the last song ended without closing anmts. (D’Angelo, PA)

JAPAN Radio Japan, 5910 via France at *0400-0430* with opening music and into SS. (D’Angelo, PA) 9560 at 2207 with sign on in KK, 11695 via Uzbekistan at 1400 with EE sign on and into news at 1401. (Sellers, BC)
Radio Nikkei, 3925 at 1321 with instl music and JJ talk. 3945 at 1317 with JJ pops, ID at 1320. (Sellers, BC)

KUWAIT Radio Kuwait, 15540 at 2046-2100* with pops, ID by M at 2050, f/by news and more pops. (D’Angelo, PA)

MALAYSIA Asyik Radio, 6050 at 1447 in Bahasa Malay with a Michael Jackson thing, M DJ mentioning names of listeners for their birthdays, another talk and song. Two “Asyik FM” IDs, short and long tones, ID and NA, some upbeat music and off suddenly before 1502. (Sellers, BC)
Sarawak FM, 9835 at 1616 in Bahasa Malay with Malaysian pops and a number of anmts, including a “Sarawak FM” ID. Good signal in a noisy band. (Sellers, BC)
Wai FM, 11665 at 1553 in Bahasa Malay with traditional songs until 1600 sign off with two time pips, ID and NA by a choir. Off just after 1602 after brief modern song. (Sellers, BC)

MALI RTV Mali, 5995 in (l) Bambara at 2153. First time I’ve noted this one in years. (Brossell, WI)

MOROCCO Radio Medi Un, 9575 in FF at 2221. Best in USB. (Brossell, WI) 2309 with news by M in FF. (Figliozzi, FL)

MYANMAR Radio Myanma, 5985.8 at 1527 with a Burmese song, IS and anmts to 1530, fanfare and W beginning EE pgm at 1600. Listed for sign off at 1630 but still going in Burmese at 1637. (Sellers, BC)
Thazin Radio, 6165 in EE after a W song, then W with mostly news from Asia, back to music at 1443. (Sellers, BC)

NEW ZEALAND Radio New Zealand International, 5950 with world news at 1305. (Brossell, WI) 11725 with W hosting Checkpoint with sound bytes and correspondent reports. (Coady, ON)

NIGERIA Voice of Nigeria, 15120-Ikorudu at 0525 on Nigerian oil exports and fighting in the north.(Maxant, WV) 0532 with news in EE and a local pop song. (Sellers, BC)

NORTH KOREA Voice of Korea, 9445-Kujang in CC with orch and operatic vocals at 2334 under VOIRI in II.  (Figliozzi, FL) 11710 at 1339 in EE with orch.  Music, M intro’ing a song praising Kim Jung Il. Good signal with //9435 fair. (Sellers, BC) 12015 at 1533 in EE with orchestral and operatic selections with occ. anmts to 1549 when there was a talk about North Korea. Very poor level. (Sellers, BC)
Pyongyang Broadcasting Station, 6400 at 1433 with KK choir and orch, //6248 was QRM’d. (Sellers, BC)

OMAN Radio Sultanate of Oman, 15140 in AA at 1405 with western pops in Saturday Matinee pgm, ID and call to prayer at 1416, then more pops. (Sellers, BC) 1952. (Brossell, WI)

OPPOSITION Democratic Voice of Burma, 6225 via Tajikistan at 1420 with carrier already on. Short tone f/by a 5 second tone at 1429, then traditional music and Burmese talk. (Sellers, BC)

Radio Miraya, 9940 (via Moldova to Sudan), 9940 at 0410 with continuous songs and local music, brief anmts at 0500 f/by more music. None of the usual EE was noted. (D’Angelo, PA)
Radio Impala (p) (to Rwanda) 17540 at 1741-1752.seems to have replaced Radio Mara, though I could not confirm the ID. Local music, M talking in (p) local language and more vocal with guitar. Carrier abruptly terminated at 1752. A couple of days later heard from *1700 with several EE IDs and into pgm of mainly local vocals. (D’Angelo, PA)

PIRATES Radio Free Whatever, 6925 with talk at 0209 with separate pgm from 6935u which was on at the same time, another day on 6950 with a tune from the (Hassig, IL)
Wolverine Radio, 6925u at 0202-0215 with M with ID at 0206. Off suddenly at 0215. (D’Angelo, PA) 6950 at 0211 ending pgm with echo ID several times and then two rounds of SSTV/FAX. (Hassig, IL)
WMPR, 6925 at 2302 with a dance/techno blend and M, occasionally W, with ID. (D’Angelo, PA)
Undercover Radio, 6925u at 0054 with Dr. Benway with morose rock, “broadcasting from the middle of nowhere”, W artist offering t-shirts, and story about placing dipole on the roof of a 3 story apt. building.
