BANGLADESH—Bangladesh Betar, 15105-Dhaka, at 1257 with M on rebuilding their maritime system, saying goodbye at 1258 then silence. Also heard 1228 with IS and 1230 EE pgm sign on with time pips. Good signal, perhaps the best ever heard from them. (Handler, IL)

BELARUS—Radio Belarus, 11730-Minsk at 2030 with a DX pgm and talk of winter in the Baltic. (Maxant, WV) 2256 (p) to 2301* with pop vocals until W ancr came on with talk until pgm was cut. (D’Angelo, PA)

BOLIVIA—Radio Mosoj Chaski, Cochabamba, 3310 at 0035 in Quechua. Seemed to be a gathering of musicians in the studio with talk and bits of various campos interspersed. (Parker, PA)

Radio Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz, 6134.8 at 0003-0029 with a nice pgm of Latin music, f/by W ancr and SS religious talk, ID and frequency anmt at 0021, then more vocals. (D’Angelo, PA)

China National Radio, 11500, CNR-1 in Mandarin at 1154, //13920 with both frequencies also in use by Sound of Hope. I believe CNR-1 may be used to jam the SOH broadcasts. Was not heard at 1211 recheck. (Handler, IL)

EGYPT—Radio Cairo, 9965 at 2302 with soft instls, W ancr with ID and frequency anmt, news headlines, then news in detail. Fair to good, but with poor modulation. (D’Angelo, PA) 2330 in EE and quite understandable, although the modulation was a bit low, I think the pgm was Eye on Events; 15345 at 1635 with W and news in EE; 1636 for “South Africa service of Radio Cairo.” Good level, but with distorted audio. GUATEMALA—Radio Verdad, Chiquimula, 4055 at 0435 in SS over slow instls. (Parker, PA) 1050 with frequency and address, then a Christian message. (Sellers, BC)

INDIA—All India Radio, 5010-Thiruvananthapuram at 0050-0110 with sub-continental music and into talks at TOH. (Rippel, PA) 9445-Bengaluru at 2040 with vocals then a talk on Indian imports/exports, 11670-Bengaluru at 1745 with local vocals and General Overseas Service ID and 13710 on the wide use of air conditioning there. Radio Republik Indonesia, 3325-Palankaraya at 1220 with the same news as on 4750 and 4870, 4750-Makassar at 1218 with M and news, RRI ID, mention of Makassar and more news, 4870-Wamena at 1214 with RRI ID. A recheck at 1230 found them in EE with two hosts playing music. All three frequencies were poor. (Sellers, BC)

KUWAIT—Radio Kuwait, 15540 at 1858 with W host and ID referring to Kuwait as the “land of the black gold” and pgm on oil in Kuwait. (Handler, IL) 1926 with a song, M presenter with ID, email, and postal addresses for reception reports. Good, with some slight fades. (Handler, IL) 2005 on industrialization there. MALAYSIA—Wai FM, 7295 at 1603 with EE pops and DJ. (Sellers, BC) 11665 at 1253 in Bahasa Malay with two M hosting Malaysian pops pgm, 1300 time pips, M with ID and into news headlines. Same news was on 9835, though it was poorer, (Sellers, BC)

Sarawak FM, 9835 at 1600 with time pips, anmts in Bahasa Malay, NA by a choir and back to Malay pops. (Sellers, BC)

MEXICO—Radio Educacion, Mexico City, at 0415 in SS with classical music. (Maxant, WV)

Radio Mil, Mexico City, 6010 at 0520 with two M talking about religion in Mexico. (Maxant, WV)

MICRONESIA—The Cross Radio, 4750 at 1115 with EE preacher, ID at 1148, and Christian songs until suddenly off at 1158 after DTMF tones. (Sellers, BC)

NICARAGUA—El Buen Preacher, 8989u at 2232 in SS with talk by deep-voiced M and two-way QSOs with other stations. (Parker, PA)

NEW ZEALAND—Radio New Zealand International, 9700 at 1205 with news about the capture of an escaped lion, then into weather. Also, 11725 at 0645 on the Syrian conflict and also domestic floods. (Maxant, WV) 15720 with big band music at 0343. (Brossell, WI)

NIGERIA—Voice of Nigeria, 7255-Ikorodu at 2251-2300* with a mix of local music and M in Hausa, ID before anmts and news at 2300 which was apparently not supposed to be here, as the signal was quickly cut. (D’Angelo, PA) 15120 at 0650 on oil exploration there. (Maxant, WV)

NORTH KOREA—Voice of Korea, 9435-Kujang at 1320 with something about the great leader’s anniversary. (Maxant, WV) 11710 at 1037 with martial music and W ancr. OMAN—Radio Sultanate of Oman, 15140 at 1918 in AA. Good, with fades. (Handler, IL)

OPPOSITION—Radio Inyabitatu (to Afghanistan), (t) 17870 at 1702. Seemed to pop on a little 
late or below the noise level at 1700; then noted a M vocal before 1703 and M ancr in an at 1250 unid language. Poor and noisy. (D’Angelo, PA)

Radio Republica (to Cuba), with W and SS news, ID by M and a short musical interlude. (Cooper, PA)

Khmer People Power, (t) 9960 via Palau, at 1201 and 1229. Weak but the language sounded like Khmer. (Handler, PA)

Radio Miraya (to Sudan), 11550 at 0346 with M/W in EE and local vocals. Nice IDs at 0400 and 0412, an AA segment then more EE. Seems like they’ve expanded their EE coverage. (D’Angelo, PA)

Echo of Hope (South Korea to North), 3985 at 1045 with huge collision of a NK jammer as well as ham traffic. (Barton, AZ)

Voice of the People (South Korea to North), 3480 at 1250 with M/W in KK over a NK jammer, 4450 at 1130 barely heard over NK jamming. (Barton, AZ) 3480 at 1058 with martial music with two ancrs. (Rippel, PA)

PAKISTAN—Radio Pakistan, 11570 at 1658 with O/C, brief music and Islamic call to prayer, 1659 sign on in Urdu, fanfare, time pips, and news headlines; 15490 at 0207 in Urdu with W and possible news to 0211*. (Sellers, BC)

PAPUA NEW GUINEA—NBC East New Britain (East New Britain), 3385 at 1108 with M in Tok Pisin. (Rippel, VA)

Radio Madang, Madang (New Guinea), 3260 at 1113 with music and clear ID by M, short anmts, and vocals. (Rippel, VA)

PERU—Radio Vision, Chiclayo, 4790 in SS at 0420 with congregation singing a hymn. (Parker, PA)

PHILIPPINES—Far East Broadcasting Company, 9795 at 2254 repeating their musical IS and ID. Sign on at 2300 in presumed (l) Mon language by W, 12095 at 1257 in (l) Tai Dam with W speaker and indigenous stringed music, 1301 with brief FEBC IS, then silence for about 20 seconds before opening in another Asian language. YHWH, 21450u at 1633-1640* with repeated snip from a very strange song. Closed by calling for a group of followers that will repopulate the earth and establish a new garden of Eden. Abruptly off in mid-transmission. (Parker, PA)

Laser Hot Hits (Ireland), 4026 at 0440 with Motown-type things and M ancr just above noise level, but strong on very brief peaks. (Parker, PA)
